Machel yatra and Sarthala Mata:

Durga is lovingly called Machel Mata by locals as it is located in the village named Machel of kishtwar district. There are lots of super natural things that happen in and around the temple; it is not suitable platform to mention all those things. (Please come and see and if you like share in comments).After Janamashtmi famous Machel Yatra is held, devotees from all the walk of life and pay their homage. Helicopter service is also available on fare bases around Rs.1500-Rs.2500 one way.

Near but on the other side of the town there is another famous temple of Sarthal Mata. The idol of the goddess with eighteen arms is situated in a cave. The temple has number of Trishuls which are hundreds of years old of the period of Dogra Rule. It is considered auspicious to have first mundane of the baby at this temple.

The temple is adorned with numerous tridents (trishuls), many of which date back hundreds of years to the era of Dogra rule. It is believed to be particularly auspicious for conducting the first 'mundan' (head shaving ceremony) of a baby at this temple.

मचैल यात्रा और सार्थल माता

मचैल यात्रा, जिसे स्थानीय लोग प्यार से दुर्गा कहते हैं, किश्तवाड़ जिले के माचल गांव में स्थित एक प्रतिष्ठित देवी हैं। यह मंदिर अपने रहस्यमय वातावरण और आसपास होने वाली कई अलौकिक घटनाओं के लिए जाना जाता है, जो भक्ति और जिज्ञासा का एक अनोखा माहौल बनाता है। कई लोग जो मंदिर में जाते हैं, अद्भुत अनुभव साझा करते हैं, और जबकि इसे पहले-hand अनुभव करना सबसे अच्छा है, आगंतुकों को आमंत्रित किया जाता है कि वे आएं और खुद चमत्कारों का गवाह बनें।

किसी अन्य ओर, शहर के ठीक पास, मचैल यात्रा है। यह मंदिर अपनी अठारह भुजाओं वाली देवी की भव्य मूर्ति के लिए प्रसिद्ध है, जो एक गुफा में स्थित है। मंदिर में कई त्रिशूल हैं, जिनमें से कई डोगरा शासन के समय के हैं। इस मंदिर में बच्चे के पहले मुंडन (सिर के बालों की कटाई) को करना बहुत शुभ माना जाता है।
